Continuing the discussion from Lost RPi Node Passwords:

relatively fast way to recover pw. I created a step by step way to reset your root password to get into your raspberry pie allstar node. It worked great with my hamvoip node and saved me having to reload everything. If you would like the text instructions, write me at 4x1ks.mark@gmail.com
The text file that I send back will have step by step instructions on how to change the currently unknown password to something new. WRITE IT DOWN after that. So, don't go bonkers trying some methods that don't work. 73, Mark

It is worth noting that modern AllStarLink 3 Appliances do not have/use a root password.
