Hello all. I’m new to Asterisk & app_rpt, but from the little I’ve read it seems app_rpt targets amateur radio applications, not commercial radio such as Motorola MCC 7500 (see Console Operation). First question - Is this a correct conclusion? If yes, I have another question: Does anybody have suggestions on products similar to Asterisk (ie. PBX system) that could also be used to interface with commercial radio such as Motorola MCC 7500?

Yes, AllStar is ham radio focused. But it has been / is being used for commercial applications. It’s also in use for GMRS. Only hams are allowed on the AllStarLink network.

The MCC 5700 looks like an IP based device. I’ve never heard of anyone connecting one to AllStar or Asterisk.
