I am unable to connect to nodes via Allmon3
It tells me my node is unknown
I have tried reinstalling and setting up multiple times still the same issue.
Your node doesn't seem to be registered; it does not appear in ASL site node stats.
What would be the regstration proccess then?
I did update the IAX config to register it. So not sure what I did wrong.
You create an account at www.allstarlink.org and add servers and nodes from there. Registration is normally done using HTML; IAX2 is not used by default. You don't normally do anything with the iax.conf file.
I have a server and a Node number already. But seems to have accidentally deleted the node number. Ill have to wait for them to issue me a new node number before I can proceed
The helpdesk might be able to give you a hand recovering your node number. But ya, in general, you'll need to get the node registered. BTW the first two node numbers you apply for are issued straightaway.
I just requested another node number. Unfortunately the Help desk referred me to the community to help with the Screenshot I posted at the start of this thread. I will try and add whatever new node number they issue me and see if that solves the issue. If not I will resurrect this thread
Your screenshot is telling you that Asterisk/app_rpt is not properly configured with node 62717. Registration working or not at this stage of the game is irrelevant. Your system is misconfigured. I would suggest using asl-menu
to configure your system from scratch once you have a new node number assigned.
asl-menu
was step 2 ...so presumably node 62717 would connect locally only once correctly configured?
He expanded 62717 w/NNX; it's now 627170 and 627171.
EDIT: Looks like it/they were deleted. New node # issued.
Ok I got the new node Number. It looks like port UDP 4569 is being blocked by my ISP on CGNat does that matter?
Is this a new install? I am wondering if it was working then quit or if this is your first time running it. I know with my setup I had to configure my network to allow it to work.
It looks like there were both config and registration issues. Nonetheless, the config issues needed to get fixed first.
This is a new Install. Still not working it still has not registered after 8 hours siting idle.
I have reached out to my ISP to remove CGNat and move me to a static IP as my Router alerted me to the fact the port forward for 4569 was not working. So we will see if that solves the issue.
As I said above, that error isn't that you're not registering it's that your node isn't setup right in the first place. That error is saying that locally on Asterisk/app_rpt there is no node 62717 configured. Until you fix that (or whatever successor configuration you've made) you aren't going to even be registered. Getting rid of CGN isn't going to help you with setup or registration issues. Many nodes work just fine behind CGN when using IAX2 registration.
Joseph, why not post your rpt.conf file to let many eyes look it over for error.
