ZOMG Archivedir!

One morning a while back I wrote a post here that never got created asking for a solution to record the repeater traffic, and only the repeater traffic, like my IC-705 does with a file for each keyup or similar. I had obviously not previously noticed this: Archivedir - AllStarLink Wiki. So perfect.

Yes, it has been there for some time.
If I might add, to use this tool in a more perfect way and be able to turn it on and off by command,
Simply attach/run it to a private node. Connect the node to the node you want recorded, and disconnect it when you no longer need it. So you can connect it to any of your nodes when needed.

Keep in mind the node recording directory will be that of the private node.
It does not fill the HDD up from leaving it on all the time because you connect it only when you need it.

I also have a bunch of other tools built around this now I will talk about some day.

And you do need to archive it if you let it run all the time and your node is busy.
Nothing you can’t script/cmd/schedule

I have been using it that way for about 10 years.

Excellent ideas Mike. I just realized that doing this way would likely fix the problem I’m having where it doesn’t record the radio. If I do it from a connected private node, the radio traffic should be from the other node and get recorded, at least I think so. Will have to test this later.
