Solution or work-around:
I had command code to transmit the node ID (*721) execute as macro on startup. Now node comes up, transmits ID. then goes back to receive and operates normally.

Are you using “invertptt = yes” ?

If so, there’s a fix for that issue in the current “beta” package update. You can read more about the update in 2024.12.20 - Package Updates - Beta Channel
