Wait-times between macros

I am not sure if that’s how to call it, but I want to configure my node to announce IP address before connecting to a node using macros. However, the node is connecting even before the IP announcement is not completed:

2 = *806 *980 *813xxxxxx (x=node#)

Is there a way how to have enough time/intervals between announcement and connecting to nodes? or to let the announcement local only and not transmitting to the network?
If there’s a better way how to do it, I would much appreciate. I have a very limited knowledge on linux.

I configure the IP announcement as per KB4DMM post.

I’m using asl2.0 on dell 3040.

thanks
Edwin

A “P” can be used to cause a pause of 500ms or a series of them for more.

Thanks Mike.
Good enough for someone like me. This will do the job.
