If you are using Xipar then under the CLI use:

radio probe on

It will scan all currently connected Fobs and indicate bus and device number.

radio probe off

will stop the scan.

Edit the urd.conf file to set device parameters accordingly.

Restart Asterisk

Hi there,

Since November, we are trying to build a voting system.

We need some help please !

Hardware:

Supermicro Intel Atom D525 (we also tried a RaspberryPi and an other computer)

Software: Since yesterday DIAL from Alllstar-Homepage (Before we tried it with ACID)

RTCM from Micro Node, Mark, we have 4 of them and tried all of them

Garmin GPS 18x LVC, also wie tried 4 of them.

Error:

More or less often the RTCM switch in the offline mode. When there is traffic very often.

But not if at the same time there is a telnet connection from any computer to the RTCM.

We suspect a networking problem between our asterisk-server and RTCM

Network-Card is set to 10 MB / s half-duplex like in the RTCM.

From tcpdump from server to rtcm we got:

Yup, tried that early on with no luck. Then tried using the (W) command

in both radio-tune-menu or simpleusb-tune-menu. The - listed

in the tuning files does not match what the “lsusb” command reports.

Well, the matches, but NOT the . On a working ACID install

under same conditions, I have two (count them two) different tuning

files where “devnum=3” go figure, and it works!

If you are using Xipar then under the CLI use:

radio probe on

        It will scan all currently connected Fobs and

indicate bus and device number.

radio probe off

will stop the scan.

        Edit the urd.conf file to set device parameters

accordingly.

          Hello list:

          I've searched

           <[http://www.xelatec.com/xipar/node/180](http://www.xelatec.com/xipar/node/180)>

          and I fully understand the description/explanations given.

What I don’t

          understand, with specific attention to the lines:

          |; name=usb ;

          ; devnum=1 ;

          devstr=4-2 ;

          is how to manually uncomment, and manipulate them. In this

particular

          instance, I'm trying to get a DIAL box running with one

original URI

          (early version) using the USBRADIO channel driver, and one

URIX (newer

          version) using the SIMPLEUSB channel driver. I've followed

the

          step-by-step (or was that Crossbar 5 Duude?) instructions

for starting

          off with a single node, then adding the second node. That

simply doesn’t

          work. The second URIx green L.E.D. stays solid throughout

the process.

          Are these lines provided for informational purposes only,

or can they be

          edited to force the second device to be recognized and

assigned?

          Hi there,

          Since November, we are trying to build a voting system.

          We need some help please !

          Hardware:

          Supermicro Intel Atom D525 (we also tried a RaspberryPi

and an other computer)

          Software: Since yesterday DIAL from Alllstar-Homepage

(Before we tried it with ACID)

          RTCM from Micro Node, Mark, we have 4 of them and tried

all of them

          Garmin GPS 18x LVC, also wie tried 4 of them.

          Error:

          More or less often the RTCM switch in the offline mode.

When there is traffic very often.

          But not if at the same time there is a telnet connection

from any computer to the RTCM.

          We suspect a networking problem between our

asterisk-server and RTCM

          Network-Card is set to 10 MB / s half-duplex like in the

RTCM.

          From tcpdump from server to rtcm we got:

          Yup, tried that early on with no luck. Then tried using

the (W) command

          in both radio-tune-menu or simpleusb-tune-menu. The

- listed

          in the tuning files does not match what the "lsusb"

command reports.

          Well, the <bus> matches, but NOT the <dev>. On

a working ACID install

          under same conditions, I have two (count them two)

different tuning

          files where "devnum=3" go figure, and it works!

For simpleusb, replace the word "radio" with "susb" ...Like:

susb active usb
susb tune save

And, the written config files will be like: simpleusb_tune_xxxx.conf

` Yes, and already “been there, done that” but the
light on the second URIx stays solid.

Yes, and this works if everything is USBRADIO. But remember, one is USBRADIO and one is SIMPLEUSB. Ah, now the fun begins.

Steve,

Both usbradio and simpleusb are simultaneously competing for the available
URI's...So, you have to train both drivers as to which URI to use.

The procedure is straight-forward. This is an example for a 2 node system:

1) Fully setup the usbradio.conf and simpleusb.conf config files, each
with [usb] and [usb1] stanzas.

2) Modify the rpt.conf file to use usbradio for both nodes. Stanzas like:

rpt.conf:

[1998]
rxchannel=Radio/usb
(lots of other config)

[1999]
rxchannel=Radio/usb1
(lots of other config)

3) Start Asterisk with "asterisk -vvvvgc" and save the
usbradio_tune_xxxx.conf files:

*CLI> radio active usb
Active (command) USB Radio device set to [usb]
*CLI> radio tune save
Saved radio tuning settings to usbradio_tune_usb.conf
*CLI> radio active usb1
Active (command) USB Radio device set to [usb1]
*CLI> radio tune save
Saved radio tuning settings to usbradio_tune_usb1.conf
*CLI> stop now

4) Modify the rpt.conf setup for simpleusb:

rpt.conf (test nodes 1998, 1999):

[1998]
rxchannel=SimpleUSB/usb
(lots of other config)

[1999]
rxchannel=SimpleUSB/usb1
(lots of other config)

5) Start Asterisk with "asterisk -vvvvgc" and save the
simpleusb_tune_xxxx.conf files:

*CLI>
*CLI> susb active usb
*CLI> susb tune save
Saved radio tuning settings to simpleusb_tune_usb.conf
*CLI> susb active usb1
*CLI> susb tune save
Saved radio tuning settings to simpleusb_tune_usb1.conf
*CLI> stop now

6) FINALLY--You're ready! ...Change the rpt.conf to a mix/match of
usbradio and/or simpleusb:

rpt.conf (test nodes 1998, 1999):

[1998]
rxchannel=SimpleUSB/usb
;rxchannel=Radio/usb
(lots of other config)

(lots of other config)

[1999]
;rxchannel=SimpleUSB/usb1
rxchannel=Radio/usb1
(lots of other config)

7) Start Asterisk and do further setup.

` That did the trick! Thanks, David! Once I read
the logic behind your argument, it made perfect sense, and the
process went just as you described.
