I need pre-emphasised audio for my set up here but when I set the txprelim to yes I cant detect any difference in the audio. I would expect it to be much more toppy if it were pre-emphasised.
Also, when going thru the audio level set up procedure, I am unable to set any of the levels right - they all seem to be all or nothing, that is any non zero value results in maximum output level.
I’ve managed to get away with it on the other nodes I have by using external pots but I am clearly doing something wrong!
Can I edit the usbradio_tune_usb.conf file to make some changes or am I going to bust something?
I’ve searched on the usual web sites but cant find anything other then the well known audio set up procedure.
In my case I needed to turn on the software 20db attenuator to get the rx in a tuneable range, and until rx is working I do not think you can set tx....There is a parameter to invoke the 20db pad in the config file....I am using Icom F420 discriminator feeds..and they were too hot to be tuneable....adding the pad in the config file fixed it right up...

Jim, Thanks for the kind offer, I live some distance from the repeater concerned - not too far in miles but far enough for me not to be able to hear it well enough from here!
I plan to have a “repeater day” this Sunday. I’ll probably be on site from around mid day onwards - the time zone here is BST which is GMT +1. I know you’re in a very different time zone, so I’ll let you choose the time, if indeed Sunday is a good day for you.
If that’s not a good day for you Jim, let me know when would be good and I’ll arrange to be on site with the node ( its node 2237 ).
I’m fairly free this weekend as the rest of the family are off on a camping trip, so I know its gonna rain
I have a good service monitor available to use, if that will help.
