URI<>TKR-750 cable

Does anybody have notes on connecting tkr750 to a URI?

TIA,
W5GM

<-- Hi Jay; I have a TKR-850 which I use as both my D-STAR (FREE STAR*) repeater AND my Allstar / FM repeater (dual mode!).

I could send you a drawing if you're interested in setting your 750 up as a DUAL MODE repeater!

If you're just after the pins to use on the 750's DB25, you can use the following:

Pin 7 - Ground

Pin 9 - TXA

Pin 10 - RXD (Discrim Audio)

Pin 12 - RX Audio Ground

Pin 16 - PTT

Pin 19 - TXA Ground

Pin 25 - RX COS (although, I believe you may have to configure the 210 for a COS signal - if you really need it - which, you don't if you're using the DSP capability of chan_usb).

The 750 / 850 makes for a beautiful DUAL MODE repeater ;).

Cheers!

Ramesh.

Hello,

Do you know if pin 10 on a TKR-850 must be programmed to output discriminator audio for a URI, or is it "hard wired" that way? I'm attempting to remotely assist someone a thousand miles away that has never done this before. While I've dealt with about 20 Motorola to URI interfaces, I've never messed with a TKR-850 before.

Thanks,
N5ZUA

We were using the built in discriminator output (i forget which pin) but had unsatisfactory results because there is too much filtering between the discriminator and that output pin. So I went inside and found an unused wire running from near the front of the unit to the connector on the back of the unit and connected the wire to an easily accessible test point that was unfiltered discriminator audio direct from the discriminator. If you have a service manual then these points should be easy to find. The results with this new discriminator output were excellent.
If you need help finding the test point then I will have to visit the repeater site and pick up the manual that I left there before I can give any details.
