TYT 9000D woes and other ASL3 pain

Hello everyone. Yes, it’s true, I’m losing both sleep and hair over these ASL3 problems, despite having some advances in solving this issue. For starters, dahdi won’t run under secure boot without changes. I had to turn secure boot off. Great, now my TX light on my RIM-Lite goes on when I transmit on my HT, I hear audio through my TX radio speakers, but the radio doesn’t actually transmit. It’s like the cos line is not going high. I have no good way of testing it, as I don’t have an oscilloscope. I’ve enabled voice recording on ASL3 so I can play back my test voice calls into the repeater, and they all sound great on playback. The repeater IDing itself is also in there, but I have never heard the the TX radio generate that audio, or transmit the repeater ID. I’ve read that the audio has to be strong enough to trip some magic threshold, but the audio level signal meter is at full blast when I talk into it, it’s just the radio isn’t actually keying down to transmit it.

If anyone with some expertise that actually has the TYT 9000D running as a repeater successfully can reach out to me to help me get over this last hurdle, it’d be GREATLY appreciated. I’m so close to getting this working…but yet so far.

Thanks in advance! Mike Neuliep / K9NH

Hi Mike.
I have 6 TH-9000D’s (3 RX, 3 TX) to make a 146.810 + 223.780 + 444.625 repeater, all tied together, controlled by 1 Pi on the older ASL (not ASL3 yet, working on migrating to ASL3 on a Pi5-8GB). 425630/1/2

If the TX doesnt TX the ID on command, sounds like either cabling or setting.
Are you using the internal header to a DB9 in the back of the radios? Id check that the PTT out from the RIM is making it to the TX radio PTT input pin (IIRC, should GND that pin). Then check rpt.conf that DUPLEX=2 (Id think it would be the same in ASL3).
