TX Tone Drop out Time

I had my PL tone encoder (node generated) drop out before the carrier dropped out. It seems to have quit working. The PL generator is working fine, but the timing seems to changed. I don’t seem to find the command now. I’m probably not be looking in the right file.

Can someone please tell me where that setting is?

Thanks!

This is in usbradio.conf

txtoctype=notone ; Transmit tone control type: no,phase,notone

; no - CTCSS tone encoding with no hang time

; phase - encode CTCSS and reverse phase

; AKA (“reverse burst”) before unkeying TX

; notone - encode CTCSS and stop sending tone before unkeying TX

; AKA (“chicken burst”)

If you select notone (as shown here), then the PL drops about 600 ms before the carrier drops.

Most people like it that way :wink:

Here is the cop commands you may want to look at as well. 59 will always transmit, 58 will only transmit when there is an active signal.

* 58 - Tx CTCSS On Input only Enable
* 59 - Tx CTCSS On Input only Disable

Beagle board uses chan_simpleusb

So the config file is: simpleusb.conf

Allegedly it supports the same encoding functions.

I tried to put the following two lines into my beagle.conf

txtoctype=notone

txctcssdefault=131.8

Now there is a line in the beagle.conf that says:

#includeifexists custom/usbradio.conf

However, as you see it is commented out.

Should those two lines have an effect out of beagle.conf or do I need to add usbradio.conf and remove the uncomment #?

Thanks,

Mike

Guys, I may be talking way out of school here, and very sleep deprived…but I don’t think Beagle has the horsepower for usbradio, tone decode, generation, and all…

Or do I really need more sleep?

only if, in a subdirectory called ‘custom’ in /etc/asterisk, you created a file called usbradio.conf. in other words, no, you don’t uncomment it if you haven’t.
