Software update timeout

I have a friend with a new ASL3 node having trouble getting a software update. It just times out getting initial list of needed updates.

dahdi-source 1:3.4.0-10.asl.deb12

It appears to be working properly in all other respects; just, not listing available updates in cockpit page.

from Terminal:

$ sudo apt update
$ apt list --upgradable

and you get ??

apt list --upgradable

I just don't get any response through the cockpit.

Run an actual sudo apt upgrade -y and see if something's failing.

sudo apt upgrade -y completed and now the cockpit can also access updates. Strange,; but, OK.
