Simpleusb-tune-menu not working

Hello all.. been dealing with low TX audio to the network for months now between DMK Engineering and person that made a cable for me. Nobody can seem to help figure out a solution that will work. long and short of the post.. Trying to run a node on ASL 3. At first simpleusb-tune-menu was working great. This is now all I get: Error parsing device parameters: Unable to connect to remote asterisk (does /var/run/asterisk/asterisk.ctl exist?)
Does anyone know how to fix this? I have reflashed the Image and this is still all that is coming up when it worked perfectly the first time

Does the asl-find-sound command report the USB interface?

Does the asl-find-sound device string match the devstr = xxx value in the /etc/asterisk/simpleusb.conf file? or that a specific device is not specified in simpleusb.conf ?

Are you using sudo simpleusb-tune-menu (or starting the tune menu from the sudo asl-menu or sudo node-setup)?

I was not typing sudo first. That seemed to do the trick. Funny I don't remember typing sudo in the first time to get to it, but either way Thank You!

The DMK URIx have a built-in audio amp for a reason... I've always had to use the amp for those interfaces.

Good to know, thanks. I didn't think I would need to run the boost setting but maybe I do!

I've always found the DMK URIx's to be quiet

Talked to Marshall, he is going to rewire for me to run the amp. I have boost "enabled" and Rx voice level set @ 999.. Im just barley audible
