RTCM bandwidth/ data throughput requirements?

Good Morning,Group!
I am curious as to the bandwidth/data throughput requirements of the Allstar RTCM. I wish to use a dedicated microwave link that will permit up to 20Mbps. Would that work for the RTCM?

that is more than enough, I have a link with just 2mbps and it works fine. I think it would work okay with under 1mbps, but I have not tried it with less than 2mbps

- assuming ulaw:
The RTCM will require approx. 80 kbps of bandwidth.
Thus, a 20 Mbps pipe will accommodate (20x10e6/80x10e3) = 250 RTCMs!

In actuality with network jitter, overhead, etc., it would probably be somewhat less than that. But I bet it could comfortably handle 100 of them without much effort!

Is that 80kbps enough for say full duplex rx and tx?

you can figure 8 kbps audio per channel plus a little overhead for a grand total of 20 to 24 kbps at full duplex. someone will please correct me if i didn't math right.

haha THX! Necro threads can be 100% valid even if shriveled and desiccated and stale w the passage of time. Wow that is VERY little data requirement. Thanks for the info.

PS- looking at the ASL dashboard I see the rx can be 80 to 150 w spikes to over 300 during rx so real world needs for bandwidth are still extremely low.
