I installed the RepeaterPhone app on my iPhone. I successfully created an EchoLink account. I am unable to create an AllStarLink account. When attempting to create an AllStarLink account, I enter my KY0L callsign, then I’ve tried the AllStarLink password that’s revealed by mousing over the password on the allstarlink.org web site. I’ve also tried the password where I log into the Landing Page for my Shari PiHat AllStarLink node. I’ve also tried an AllStarLink PIN number that I recorded in my records. None of the passwords work with the RepeaterPhone app. My AllStarLink node works fine, there’s no password issues with the AllStarLink node. Which password needs to be used with the RepeaterPhone app? Perhaps the RepeaterPhone app doesn’t allow certain special charactors or has some other type of restrictions on the passwords. Or, is there another way to setup the AllStarLink account in the RepeaterPhone app?
Depending on what you’re trying to do, you either use your personal www.allstarlink.org username and password (for “web transceiver” mode) or you need to create a local IAX2 user and password on your node for a direct connection.
If you are logging directly into allstarlink.org from Repeaterphone, then you should use your allstarlink.org password, not a node password, or an IAX password from a node (though you can connect to existing nodes that way).
This having been said, I have heard of people not being able to use Repeaterphone with certain characters in the password. However, I can’t remember what those are. It has definitely come up in my life before, though.
The problem is resolved. I could now create a KY0L AllStarLink account on the RepeaterPhone app, and successfully tested it on the 55553 Parrot node. The root problem was the login password for the allstarlink.org website was bad, even though I was already logged into the allstarlink.org website. I discovered that my password needed to be reset after I logged out of the allstarlink.org website, and attempted to log back into the allstarlink.org website. Resetting the password for the allstarlink.org website fixed the problem!
