My asl shows that the registration has been sent and acknowledged, however the node does not show on the active list, and when I display the node and click on it, it shows that there is some sort of database problem associated with node 28177. The node # and password are correct in iax.conf.
Any suggestions?

You are showing registered on the nodes list. See https://www.allstarlink.org/nodelist/ and search for your node number or callsign.
The stats server uses the statpost lines to send your info. Be sure the lines in /etc/asterisk/rpt.conf are uncommented.
