PL encoding using ASL3 on a Kenwood TKR850

Hey guys. I’m hoping someone can help with this. Not sure if it’s possible. I have a Kenwood TKR850 version 2, and I want to use ASL3 as the controller. We’re currently using an outboard controller. This repeater is set up so it encodes PL on COS, in other words, gated PL. When the received signal drops, PL on the output goes away. We did this so our remote sites could link via RF, and not hear the hang time. Can I set this up in ASL3 with this repeater and if so, what is the best way to go about it? Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
Also, can a similar thing be done with a quantar repeater?

To be clear on what I believe you are asking, you are asking is there is a way to drop CTCSS encoding on transmit as soon as receive CTCSS goes away and thus the outbound audio for Telemetry and tail and things like that is not encoded? In that case, no I do not believe you could accomplish that with the USBRadio channel. You probably could emulate it if you disable Telemetry and have a very short tail close. It depends on how much you care about a telemetry tone and things like that.
