I reverted to the old asl and it works flawless in a pi3
If you have time and Remote Desktop and are willing to help, I’ll show you. I don’t know how to get you all this information and hope to find someone to look and say “no dummy, that’s why it ain’t workin, you got this set incorrectly!” .
I have been upside down for about a week and blew an amp over it and almost smoked the power supply.
Heck of a way to learn I guess. But I’m sure it’s a simple setting. Something I have messed with unknowingly.

You were asked to better describe your trouble, so everyone could understand what the problem was, but you never replied.
Since you're obviously “smart enough to help yourself” now, how about elaborating on what the problem was, and how you resolved it, so the solution can be documented to potentially help others?
You came to the Community looking for help, now how about giving back to the same Community with your new found wisdom… Instead of hurling insults?
Asl3 system would hang if repeater got quick keyed.
Audio levels were at 600 and too high. Turned down to 420 and they hold well.
Rx radio would not hang but the tx radio would. It was the asl3 levels and rxondelay=1 and it seemed to fix the problem.
A feller tried to post this info and say some other info about how asl3 seems to take new lines in the simple use.conf file and the mods didn’t allow it -from what I was told by the guy who helped me.
So if your tx radio hangs and the rx radio is not active, check the simple usb.conf file and put rxondelay=1 and make the rx levels below 500. My rx boost = yes

Using repeater. Using maxtrac RM boards and they work flawlessly on the cdm radios asl3 raspberry pi 5 with NVME 1tb ssd …..

I asked for someone to help me get the info to help and no one did! I was just starting to learn and they wouldn’t even help me get the info I needed to post to help myself better!!! I feel they left me out to hang! And this is why I said it! No real help here from them and they need to get it straight! Help us when we have questions!

I am not sure what you’re referring to or who you are taking to. This is the first time you’ve explained an actual problem anyone could have helped with. If you had given those details in the first post - as the post template asks you to do - many people would have been able to help. I do not have time to remote into everyone’s system to help and I get asked that a lot. There’s over 11,000 online nodes at any one time and 42,000 registered nodes. We as a project cannot provide one-on-one service.
Whomever contacted you outside the thread wasn’t moderated by us. I am the primary admin here and the only moderating we do is for spam, people who post sensitive details like passwords, and when people post irrelevant AI-generated slop. The latter messes up searching and reinforces bad LLM learning making things harder for everyone. And only one thread was flagged for that lately.
Look at many other threads… there’s lots of people talking and helping. There’s also years of searchable data available.
