Overall config and move node number NXX to new server

I have 3 physical servers, two on RPi and one in a MS VM. All are properly configured with separate IP and port numbers with NXX off of my Node number

SVR 1 XXXXX0, XXXXX1, XXXXX2
SVR 2
SVR 3

Is it necessary to have 3 servers listed/assigned at the Allstar network? If so, I would like to move the NXX node numbers to the other servers. How do I move the Nodes to the other servers. I can’t find a way on the Allstarlink pages. Currently all show SVR 1 when looking at the NODES page on Allstarlink.org.

From the Portal / Node Settings page you can select each of your nodes. In the middle of the edit node page you should see a popup to select the server for that node. Pick your server … and don’t forget to click “Submit” at the bottom of the page.

Thanks. Although on my page, the dropdown is on the upper right. Is it a necessity to separate them for proper operation?

Yes, you have to separate them by server instance. Each installation on a Pi, VM or physical machine is a distinct server. The server definition is what maps nodes to a given IP and port. Each node on a single server can share the same ip/port.

Thanks! Good explanation, just wasn’t getting it, I’m an old dog learning new tricks!
