OT: Anyone using an Android to dial into their system?

Hi Guys;

Off-topic I know... is anyone using an Android to dial into their Asterisk / app_rpt system? - if so, which app' are you using?

Conversely, is anyone using an iPhone - and if so, which app?

Thx!

Ramesh.

I use Siphon on a jail broke iPhone

I've tried a few SoftPhones on my Android device (non-cell phone) and none of them have proven stable (which is probably related to my device) for me yet. I will have to get the device to see which ones I've tried so far... but

I have been using Acrobits Softphone on the iPhone set-up as a SIP reverse auto-patch into the app_rpt. It has worked very well.

I use “Sipdroid” on my HTC EVO. It’s very configurable from a SIP settings standpoint and overall works very well. You could also try “Fring” but it doesn’t seem as mature as Sipdroid.

Darn it, I hate it when I reply to a group and it goes to the sender
instead of the group.

Here's what ended up going to Steve when I did a reply with out
changing the To: address.

I use IaxDialer on my iPad. Yeah I know, I strayed away from the
Android topic. By the way, IaxDialer is for any iPhone in the App
Store, jail breaking not necessary. But does use of WiFi (that's all
my iPad has).

<-- Wow - lots of interesting replies! - I've been pre-occupied with some work stuff, so sorry for the delay guys. I had someone try the following IAX client on his droid:

http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applications/communication/iaxagent-beta_fkwc.html

He was able to register with my Asterisk box, but when he tried to dial an extension, I get the following error on the Asterisk CLI:

[Jul 14 22:29:15] NOTICE[5187]: chan_iax2.c:9521 socket_process: Rejected connect attempt from <his_ip_address>, requested/capability 0x8/0x8 incompatible with our capability 0xe006.

Interesting that most people here are using siphon on the iphone (probably because the iPhone has been out longer... I may try that on an iPod Touch that I have).

Anyone have any ideas on the above error / incompatibility message?

Thanks!

Ramesh.

Allstar 2200 and a whole lot of others!
