Good morning. Just a reminder that the October 2025 infrastructure upgrade will be starting at 1300 UTC / 0900 EDT / 0600 PDT. The announcement link has the schedule of the work.
This work is the culmination of a lot of back-end preparation and development to centralize all AllStarLink services on Amazon Web Services with updated operating systems and software stacks. The main outage-causing task is the move of the database from MySQL 8 running in Google Cloud to MariaDB 11.8 running in AWS.
I notably want to thank Allan WA3WCO and Jeff KF0CSJ on helping me deploy and test all the new services.
I will post here when the work is completed. As mentioned in the announcement, please do not report any bugs or issues until the maintenance is declared complete.
The service migration and upgrade is completed and went as-planned. All services were back in operation as planned by 1430 UTC / 1030 EDT except for stats.allstarlink.org which was back online a little after 1500 UTC / 1100 EDT. We needed to launch the service on a larger instance than was planned during development/testing and do some additional PHP tuning to dial it in.
