With all our domain names down due to a problem with our DNS provider, I can’t see what is going on at the moment.
The problem may not be on your end due to this issue.

Would the DNS you mentioned problem cause this?
I have setup my router to divert all incoming traffic to the asterisk server
just in case but it makes no difference…

Yes. But until the DNS problems are resolved registrations will fail.
