No WiFi, "Wifi scan failed"

HELP FOR WIFI!

Asterisk Version: 22.7.0+asl3-3.7.1-1.deb13
ASL3 Version: 3.15-1.deb13

Hi folks, Dave, total newbie here. I have allmon3, supermon and allscan and remote node (on my iPhone) working great via ethernet on my SHARI node. I just did all the software updates from Cockpit.

I am failing to find and connect to a WiFi network when I do a scan from Cockpit/terminal.

My end goal is to have my iPhone or Android phone as the hotspot to travel mobile with my hotspot. Right now, I just want my home wireless to work. It doesn’t.

I did not configure WiFi when I first built the image, I just used (and use) the ethernet port for my initial configuration and continued use.

I have a phone hotspot and my home wifi network configured via the Wifi manager in Cockpit as well. I can add and delete them at will too. Cockpit sees 2 mac addresses from the RPi, 88:xx:xx:xx:xx:c7 (eth0) and 88:xx:xx:xx:xx:c9 (wlan0). I cannot connect when I reboot and remove the ethernet.

I tried “rfkill list” and “rfkill unblock wifi”. The 2nd command released the soft (and hard) block on the wlan0 to NO. I am grasping at straws though and am just about done with the 3 remaining strands of hair on my head.

Do you have Cockpit set for "Limited access"? If so, click the link at the top of the window to enable "Administrative access". Then, you should be good.

No, full admin access.

Because you didn't configure WiFi when you first built the image, here's one possibility :

sudo raspi-config
  Localisation Options
    WLAN Country
      ...
