Bob,

It looks like DKMS did not rebuild DAHDI properly.

Please do as root:

dpkg-reconfigure asl-dahdi-linux-dkms

reboot

Should now be fixed. Check DAHDI is running by:

lsmod | grep dahdi

It looks like DKMS did not rebuild DAHDI properly.

Please do as root:
dpkg-reconfigure asl-dahdi-linux-dkms
reboot

Should now be fixed. Check DAHDI is running by:
lsmod | grep dahdi

This is because OSS is not supported and marked as broken in current Linux distributions. You can either use a kernel that has it compiled in or you can do what I did and use:

ALSA

PulseAudio

osspd (emulates oss through pulse)

I’ll write up some basic instructions for how mine is working… but the net of it it is that without /dev/dsp1 your asl can’t send or receive audio via your sound card (URI)

Maybe I’m talking out of turn, I did not read the entire thread back.

JJ is correct. When the kernel was updated the new kernel no longer
supports OSS. While waiting for JJ to publish his work around or for
the dev team to produce a nono OSS channel driver, I’ll post the
info to put the kernel and headers on hold to keep OSS support.

I'll have the info up by tomorrow morning.

Bob,

It looks like DKMS did not rebuild DAHDI properly.

            Please do as root:

            dpkg-reconfigure asl-dahdi-linux-dkms

            reboot

Should now be fixed. Check DAHDI is running by:

            lsmod | grep dahdi
