Inquiry

Hi, I need some help with my ASL3 node after the new update, I can only hear the node feedback me just a “TEEETTT” sound like a test tone. Its not a constant tone, just if other person keyed up and talk. I can only hear that. When turn on/restart the node also only hear that “TEEETT', no more the announcement like “ node connected, etc etc”

Last week was just fine. After the update I got into this problem. I tried to re-image back ( 3 times), change different power,USB, re-sit the HAT. I use raspberry pi5 and somewhat like shari pizero HAT called RAPZHAN build by local ham operator in my country - 9M2IBR

See https://allstarlink.github.io/user-guide/troubleshooting/ on how to ask a good question to obtain the quickest and best assistance

To clarify your question, are you saying telemetry tones are not playing, or the sounds files that speak status, or even incoming audio from other nodes?

All of it sir. Anything that node transmitting to my analog radio I only hear “TEEETTTTT” sound. Whether its long or short transmission.

I tried getting help from Ai gemini. It said that my HAT driver is usbfs not usbhid. Tried to unbind from usbfs and to force bind to usbhid but terminal shows I/O error. Check asl-find-sound can found my hat cmedia.

AI advice on ASL using sound devices is almost undoubtedly going to be wrong. You don't need to bind/unbind anything about the audio device. However ASL does take exclusive access of the device so if you setup something that's fiddling with it via ASLA/Pipeaudio or something else you may be blocking it that way. Nothing about the last update changed anything substantive with the USB audio drivers. Are you using SimpleUSB or USBRadio? Does devstr= in the appropriate conf file match the output of asl-find-sound?

I tried both simpleUSB & USBradio. Nothing change. Before I got this problem my setting was USBradio. But after multiple time reimage the sdcard I just set to simpleUSB as it is new installation from raspi imager followed exactly as on manual.

Have you tried updating the RF Module settings (one pic looks like it's a SR105U) ?

At this point I would revert to the backup SD card you should have containing the system that worked last week, to verify your hardware is still working.
