Mototrbo SLR-5700 Linking with a Masters Communications RA-40

Does anyone have a working combination of a Mototrbo SLR-5700 interfacing with a Masters Communications RA-40?
I am having trouble passing core. I can hear allstar traffic. I can't get to Allstar from a radio coming through the Repeater.
If anyone has this going and has a copy of settings in the simpleUSB tune and what might be set in the Mototrbo CPS v.2.0 software would be appreciated. - N9GI@pm.me.

Yes. I have done this a number of times.

See the attached screenshots for the proper programming of the SLR5700's accessory pins, audio settings, and channel settings. Also attached is the information to contruct a proper cable between the RA/RL series adapter and SLR5700.

The issue with the SLR5700 is that you need to program a GPIO pin for MONITOR active low, and jumper that pin to a ground pin on the DB25 connector, so that the receiver will pass rx audio out of the rx audio pin regardless of whether a received signal has the proper PL/DPL code or not. The repeater will still decode a proper tone, when present, even in monitor mode, thus providing the active logic signal to indicate presence of a valid tone. This way, your repeater controller, or RA series ASL adapter in this case, can be set to properly select COS or CTCSS receive mode. Most folks miss this important step and then have issues with no audio at times.

Program the simpleusb settings for both COR and CTCSS to usb. You can also utilize one of the GPIO outputs of the CM119 chip to control the CTCSS tx encoder of the SLR5700 if you wish.

Thanks I hope to get this done tomorrow. Question right now we have split tones. 186.2 for the Repeater to Receive and 131.8 for it to transmit. Will that make any difference?

That won't make a difference. Split tone in the SLR5700 is done frequently in the LMR world.

In case you thought otherwise, I would recommend you let the SLR5700 do the tx and rx CTCSS internally, rather than the ASL node software. That's how the above notes are designed to do it. The audio quality, ctcss decoder, and squelch in the SLR5700 are quite good.

I was going to say...the only impediment to split-tone is people that insist on using ancient radios. Tell them to turn off PL decode.

I did that in the SLR5700 not the ASL3 Node. I did have to go inverted USB rather than USB. When I went USB the Repeater stayed keyed. Inverted and walla it worked. Getting ready to do a HotSpotRadio USB Repeater.
