M1KE Allstar Support

Hi group. I'm a long time Allstar user. Recently with V26 the M1KE now supports connecting to Allstar. In order to configure the connection it's asking for a token from the Allstar network. I'll be darned if I can the Request a token button that the M1KE mentions. Can anyone help me with this. Thanks in advance.

Nevermind. I was over thinking this. The token is generated with the M1KE and not on the Allstar site. Thanks!

I appreciate the clarification.

This works great!! The M1KE ROCKS!!!

I just upgraded to V26 of the M1KE but do I need to sign up for an allstar account. Asking for my call sign and password.

Yes you need to register with Allstar.org. Once you do that then enter those credentials into the M1KE then it will generate the token. The default port is 4569. This is perfect for me because I have a repeater that's connected to the Allstar network. As another option if you're an iOS guy then there's a nifty app call repeater phone that costs I think $8 and this will connect you with not only all of the Allstar connections but the Echolink ones too. It's a cool app and worth the money. 73 K9AT

I will find out in a few hours....Mine is in Phoenix! Were there directions for that anywhere?

The M1KE is a new product from the guys at SharkRF.com. It's an HT and a hotspot all in one. They're really popular because you don't need to use a separate HT to transmit into the hot spot like their Open Spot4. The drawback to the M1KE vs. the Open Spot is it works on on WiFi unlike an HT that will uses RF. Finally the M1KE doesn't support P25 like the Open Spot 4's. Hope this helps and answers your questions.

Sounds like a cross between a crippled network radio and a crippled hotspot...

Really? It adds additional functionality to an already popular SharkRF product. The v26 firmware was free. If I was on the M1KE talking to you, you could tell as the audio is excellent. Let's be a little more open to change...

I'm just saying it sounds like it already does what a network radio has been doing for several years except no P25.

The M1KE is different than the usual hotspots in that it's a hotspot AND a WiFi radio HT. That's revolutionary.
