Gentlemen,
Been two years since I have tried to get my Asterisk SIP phone to connecct to Allstarlink.org
I am getting this error in my sip stack on Asterisk:
Dec 20 16:01:55] NOTICE4026 chan_sip.c:15927 sip_reg_timeout: – Registration for ‘1@67.215.233.178’ timed out, trying again (Attempt #2)
Did allstarlink.org provide a SIP server? I was not aware of that. AFAIK, SIP phone users setup their own allstar servers to allow access. Would that work for you? If so perhaps I or others could help you with that.
The SIP registration access hasn’t worked in almost … two years. Seems to be around the time some of the arch changes happened, and around when the phone portal also stopped working.
I also used to use the SIP method as a way of dialing into the Portal as a specific node, as a direct extension in my local non-ASL Asterisk PBX. (i.e. you only then had to enter your Portal secure PIN to access your node, etc.) It was a nifty feature, but I’ve moved to IAXRPT and some custom dialplan items that work similarly since, and it works about as well.
