Hello all,

New to ASL 3 and clueless about Linux. All has been working well for the past week or so but now I can’t update the node. Below is the error message I receive.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, and thank you!

This is an error about DVSwitch, not ASL. It appears that DVSwitch's repository is no longer in compliance with the Debian package security requirements. You need to ask the DVSwitch group how to resolve this.

Hello, and thank you for the response. I don’t even use that program.

Can I remove it somehow so updates can resume?

I’m not familiar with their group but I’ll look….

Thank you again…

Adam

How did you install ASL3? That doesn't come from our imaging system.

There’s a chance it was packaged with Allscan when I installed that. Unfortunately, I know nothing about the Linux OS so I just did what the video said to do.

At least Allscan works!

Adam

How did you install Allscan? Did you use one of the "multi-package" installers?

Although it was only a few weeks ago, I’m tying to remember. I believe I followed a video on Youtube from Freddie Mac?

Hi Adam.

See here:

main@DVSwitch.groups.io | Cockpit console software updates and manual cli apt update commands failing after upgrade to Debian 13 (trixie)

This may get you in the right direction.

I’ll take a look, thanks Eric!

I guess you know Linux, Eric! I read that and got nothing out of it….totally NOT a Linux person!

If you don't need DVSwitch, I wouldn't install it. Try removing it or reinstalling your ASL3 node first.

I don’t need DVSwitch as I don’t use it. Is there an uninstall command that you could give me to try?

I’d rather not reinstall the whole node unless I absolutely must…..probably because I don’t know what I’m doing!

Doing a Google search, I found the following command “sudo apt-get purge dvswitch-server” which I ran, and it seemed to work (no errors) and “sudo apt-get autoremove” but I still can’t get updates for the node. Same error occures…

Delete the dvswitch repo file out of /etc/apt/sources.list.d and then do an apt update.

I tried but I’m not familiar with the correct syntax to do that. What I’m trying isn’t working…

Post the output here of ls -l /etc/apt/sources.list.d

I think I’m good! I Googled how to Delete the dvswitch repo file out of /etc/apt/sources.list and after running that command, I no longer receive the error when getting updates!

Thank you for your patience!!

Adam

Glad it worked. Good luck.

Thank you again!

Adam
