I would like to run AllStarLink 3 on Linux Mint but I’m not finding information to confirm if it will run. Is asl3 compatible with Linux Mint? I don’t have any experience with AllStar but I’m very interested. Just trying to figure this out. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and 73.
I don’t know that anyone has tried to install ASL3 on a Linux Mint system. Our focus has been on systems running Debian 12.
If you’re brave enough, and understand that your system may need to be reinstalled from scratch, then give it a try.
Also, know that “support” will be very limited.
“ASL3” as in the full suite of tools is not compatible with Linux Mint. You can probably install Asterisk + app_rpt on Linux Mint from source but that isn’t recommended unless you’re well-skilled at compiling software from source.
I have successfully installed ASL3 on LMDE (Linux Mint Debian Editions).
LMDE aims to be as similar as possible to Linux Mint, but without using Ubuntu. The package base is provided by Debian instead. ASL3 also runs quite well on MX Linux.
