Inquiry

I recently purchased the HSR Duplex Repeater and installed ASL 3 on a Raspberry Pi 5 using the instructions that were posted by Ham Radio Crusader. Everything works fine until it doesn't. I used the pre-built images from https://repo.allstarlink.org/images/pi/

Every now and then I find that the system is stuck on TX and the only way to get out of it is to restart Asterisk which fixes it temporarily until it happens again later. It may take many hours before it happens again, or just few hours, but it happens at least once a day. I searched for other reports on the problem and found reports of stuck TX after a boot on simplex and that it was supposedly fixed in a January 2025 release. In my case it is duplex and it doesn't happen on boot but randomly. I even tried to use a different Raspi 5 just to see if there is some hardware problem but ended up with the same result. One of the Raspi has NVMe SSD and the other uses a MicroSD.

Any suggestion how to proceed from here?

You have a CTCSS or DCS configured on the receive correct? You don't want to be trying to do CSQ-only operations with that.

Due to the intermittent nature of this,
I would think the first area of exploration might be the threshold voltage on the cos or ptt.
First separate if it is the cos active line or the ptt line by looking at the software.
You will need to think of this logically and perhaps use a buffer transistor on those lines if you find issues.

Does not sound like a software issue, but could be.

For some reason I am not seeing my reply that was done via email.

Yes, I do have CTCSS configured and it works fine.

I sent an email to Marshall and he thinks it may be an issue with my unit. He will swap it with a new unit so I hope this will resolve the issue.
