Problem - some sudo instructions require charecters from my keyboard and when i press the right key ,Linux changes the character to something else,so my sudo command wont work. Any ideas .???

Sounds like your keymap is not quite correct. Changing the default keymap Varies a little bit depending upon your distro but perhaps someone here can help with that given some info on your install.
