ISO files

Bob is correct, first you must burn, not copy, the iso file to a CD. There are several programs for Linux and Windows that do this. Then put the newly burned CD into the drive and set the BIOS to boot from the CD first, not the hard disk. You should get a welcome screen in a minute or so with a warning that proceeding will permanently erase the hard disk and everything on it. It matters not what is there now, it will be replaced. Once the process starts, there is no going back.

When the load finishes, you'll be asked for a "root" password. Make sure you write it down as there is little chance of recovering without starting over if you forget it. You should get a message to remove the CD and restart the machine, it will then load into Linux with everything ready to go. There is a firsttime script that runs and walks you through the basics of configuring a node.

There is no fancy windows enviroment from this point on, everything is done at the command line. An understanding of the basics of Linux is handy.
