Is there a glossary of terms anywhere?

Is there a glossary of ASL3 terms anywhere? I'm newbie trying to set up a node with a FT-8900 and a G1LRO URI so I can access my local (no-allstarlink) repeater GB3OV when I'm away.

I'm struggling with the setup for simple USB. I keep seeing terms and acronyms that are obviously common parlance to afficienados (e.g. COS) but which are not defined or explained and mean zilch to me. What I (and I suspect many other newbies) need is a glossary of terms. Does such a think exist?

If you're asking about common repeater terminology like COS: Basic repeater terminology.

Thanks.

Might I carefully suggest however, that with the arrival of devices like the allscan range of products, ASL is attracting a new class of users who are not used to building repeaters, and therefore do not know all these acronyms and abbreviations. Something in the “Basics” section that gave a “big picture” view of allstarlink, its history and what it does - including a glossary of relevant terms - would be useful: rather than jumping straight into “what is a node”. I certainly would have welcomed something like this.

Can we ask that you create a new issue @ GitHub : ASL Manual asking that we expand the "Basics" section of our online doc? ... and include any terms you'd like us to include?

We're also always looking for volunteers to work on the manual and include relevant information.
