I was able to build a new node using a Motorola radio

I just wanted to share that I was able to build my first node. It took me a while to get all the configurations correct, but seems to be working well now. I’m excited to get started using it. It uses the following hardware/software:

ASL3 on Pi 3+
Motorola XPR 5550 running 1 watt
Repeater Builder USB-Rim Lite V2 Sound card.

Josh
KB6VTU

That looks great.

Did you document the build process??

I like the radio. I use a GM340 for mine.

I did not document the process. The hardware was all plug and play; the software setup was the basic installation of ASL3.

Getting the software config did take me a while, but seems to be working well now. With the config there was a lot of trial and error that finally resulted in a working node.

Josh,

Congratulations on building your first ASL V3 node.

This is the piece that is missing from your parts list.
