Are you using ASL3 on a Raspberry Pi? If so, our install process does net setup the "root" login (at all). Using the Raspberry Pi Imager application you specify a non-root login and password.

Sorry, we can't help here.

I googled Debian 12 - Lost Root Password - To reset a forgotten root password on Debian, you'll need to boot into a recovery mode or single-user mode, then change the root password using the passwd command. This can be achieved by editing the bootloader configuration to add init=/bin/bash.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

By default, a Raspberry Pi OS (based on Debian 12) does not have a root password. You cannot interactively logon as the root user at all. Login as the user you setup in the imaging process and then to become root do sudo -s. If you then need to set a root password, then do a passwd command to set a root password.

well, finally i add an helping brain for me,,,
we were able to login.
