how would i hook up my yaesu ft7900 to Allstar

How would i hook up a yaesu ft7900 to Allstar link?

Take a look at https://wiki.allstarlink.org/wiki/Radio_Connections. That may not have your particular radio but it will give you some good hints.

Use the 9600 baud pin on the radio. Set the radio to use 9600 baud. Should be the same as my FT-7800.

What wires and equipment do i need?

Kind of an overkill radio for allstarlink, but it looks like it has the mini din “data” port on the back. I would just pick up a repeater builder rim-lite board with the db9 connector. That board plugs into the usb port on your computer, then you can make a db9 -> mini-din cable to plug into the radio and you will be on the air. I would use the 1200baud rcv/tx audio as that gets processed by the transceiver. 9600baud bypasses all the audio circuitry. The interface is here. http://www.repeater-builder.com/products/usb-rim-lite.html You will probably have to make your own cable for this, but that’s part of the hobby. I’m getting ready to put a node online with an FT1500 which has the same “data” jack.
