Hi ASL3 Developers/users,
I have ASL3 running well on a RPi zero 2W. This includes Supermon 7.4, Allmon3 and Allscan.
With Hamvoip, a DTMF Command to *B1 will shut down the Node.
I am not familiar with ASL so would appreciate any info (if any) on being able to issue a command from Supermon or Allmon to shut down the Node. Thanks in advance

Since ASL3 is on modern Asterisk, it doesn’t run as root for good security reasons. That also means it cannot execute system commands like shutdown or reboot and that is by design. Older tools like Supermon that rely on old versions of Asterisk to do things won’t work in ASL3. Use Cockpit (Webadmin) from the landing page to turn the node on and off.
Thankyou for the explanation. Much appreciated.
I guess you are saying that one needs to use the “Menu” options in Cockpit where there are shutdown / reboot commands etc.
I have been using an IPad when “portable” and have found that one cannot select the menu items as there are no IPad arrow keys.
I have been navigating to “root” and sending the command “sudo shutdown” which works. Is this an ok procedure?

I’m not sure what you’re referring to about arrow keys. Shutting the node down is here:
Thankyou. Totally missed the reboot/shutdown box top right of Web Admin Portal screen after login.
All sorted now.
I was referring to the menu items in asl-menu.
iPad dosn’t appear to be able to “select” item 7 (or any other lines) to shutdown/reboot etc.
Again, Many Thanks
