How to disable dtmf?

I’m sorry for not being more familiar with {iax,rpt}.conf, but is there a way to disable RF dtmf control for a node?

There are a number of ways to approach this. Look at Rpt.conf - AllStarLink Wiki

  • You could disable some things and allow others with control states. Find on the page above all the mentions of “controlstates”.
  • You could change the beginning of all commands from * (a star) to * (a star) plus a prefix like *123. Find “inxlat” on above page.

But before you go too far why are you asking? Sometimes it’s better say what you want to do rather than assume the solution to a problem.

Perhaps some of these may suit your taste. But the best plan is likely getting rid of the cause.
Pay no attention to my dtmf numbers, yours might be different, or could be what you wish.
Try to think about the implications of your scheme, what ever that ends up to be.

916=cop,9		; Autopatch enable
917=cop,10		; Autopatch disable
918=cop,11 ; User linking functions enable
919=cop,12 ; User linking functions disable

924=cop,17 ; User functions enable (time, id, etc)
925=cop,18		; User functions disable

956 = cop,56             ; Rx CTCSS Enable
957 = cop,57             ; Rx CTCSS Disable

958 = cop.58 ; Tx CTCSS On Input only Enable
959 = cop,59 ; Tx CTCSS On Input only Disable

But the short answer is no, you can not just turn off dtmf control, you can mask or change parts of it or
how it works.

Thank you. We have a malicious user who is morally opposed to ASL, and is dtmf jamming the node that several of us use.
