Error openning serial port

RESOLVED: USB linking cable issue. Swapped them out and its working fine.

Hi Guy’s,
SHARI node on Pi3b ASL3.
Everything is running fine but I need to change the TX/RX frequency due to some local interference I am receiving.
I have run sa818-menu from both a terminal window and from terminal in asl3. But I keep getting “Error openning the serial port”.
serial port is set to /dev/ttyUSB0 and baud is 9600.
Can anyone suggest where the issue may be please?
Thanks.

Thanks Mike, I have changed it to /dev/serial0 in sa818-menu and now its changed from; “Error openning the serial port” and is showing “Connection error” instead.

That would indicate it is not communicating on that port.

Correct port ?

unplug replug test again.
reboot and test again as it may have buggerd something up trying it the previous way?

/dev/serial0 is the only port it will accept now, even after reboot. If I try changing it to anything else it says “Please enter a valid serial device path or leave blank to use the default linux console port” Which I also tried doing but I get the same connection error.

Have you looked at Kits 4 Hams suggested SHARI settings for ASL3 ?

I have sorted it, I swapped out the cables linking the SHARI to the Pi and it’s working with Serial set to /dev/ttyUSB0
