EchoLink Node numbers

I've setup a script to email me when someone connects to our club node.
I've noticed that the EchoLink connections have strange node numbers.
For example the one below should have come from my personal number 25666.

"Node 3282562 connected to node 48168 at 2018-05-21.23:57:08:"

any ideas?

Actually Echolink node numbers live in the 3 name space….so an echolink number will always start with a 3. To connect to an echolink node it would be *33XXXXXX. For example the echllink node number from allstar for theguild conference would be 3679320. To connect it would be *33679320

That’s right, so its not the connect command but the ASL prefix for echolink.

Nice idea from the poster about the email. I’m familiar with setting up sendmail and procmail to send and retrive. Can this script be used to email whenever someone connects to the ASL node. Not just echolink?

I think I remember seeing the 3 prefix.
However, how does that explain

Shouldn’t it have been 3025666?

Are you using a proxy or relay server from a phone? That would cause it to happen.

I think some proxies and relays are not configd right or 'spaz-out' from time to time.

The do not allways bring your callsign/node forward in the handshake to the conectee'

Not sure but that sounds like what it is to me.

No the phone app can connect directly, through a proxy or through a relay. If you are using a relay, it can cause the wrong node to show up.
