DVSwitch Mobile Issues - 2025-12-12 to -14 - RESOLVED

This issue is resolved as of 2025-12-14 5:15PM EST

There is a known issue with the DVSwitch Mobile app on Android devices that stems from a cause-unknown incompatibility that is preventing logins to that particular application. We are engaged with the developers to solve the issue and I hope to have it resolved later today (US East Coast time).

Please do not open further threads or helpdesk tickets about this issue. The issue is well-known and being worked.

Thanks.

Hi All,

Since earlier today, Web Transceiver (WT) connections are causing DVSwitch Mobile to crash immediately upon connection.

Everything was working perfectly yesterday and earlier this morning
Now DVSwitch Mobile crashes as soon as a WT connection is initiated

Observed behavior:

  • DVSwitch Mobile closes/crashes instantly when starting a WT connection

  • Issue reproduced on multiple known WT-enabled nodes, including:

    • 40000

    • 43136

    • 27225

  • Behavior is node-independent

Devices tested:

  • Android tablet

  • T320 handheld

  • Same behavior observed by another user with a T320

  • Tested on different networks

Environment:

  • DVSwitch Mobile (latest version)

  • WT / AllStar mode

  • Android

This strongly suggests a recent regression or change in the WT / ASL3 / Asterisk stack, likely returning malformed or unexpected SIP/SDP data that DVSwitch Mobile cannot handle, resulting in an immediate application crash.

This does not appear to be a client-side configuration issue and is not specific to a single node or device.

Has anyone else observed this behavior today?
Any information about recent changes or possible workarounds would be appreciated.

There was some major updates to the website/portal code yesterday that may be causing this. However, I have no contact information for the author of DVSwitch Mobile to troubleshoot the issue. If someone could contact me directly to debug, I'm sure it's something that can easily be resolved but as far as I know, that app isn't represented in the Vendor/Beta community on Slack.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. The developer of DVSwitch Mobile is Steve N4IRS. I would like to help you, but I have no way of accessing the error logs, and it's also installed on Android devices.

DVSwitch Mobile fails at the WT authentication stage.
Token request returns “Login failed” despite valid credentials.
HTTPS/TLS communication with AllStarLink portal is functional.
Issue is reproducible across multiple accounts (ON4WX, ON4MAX) and devices.
No WT node connection is attempted.
This indicates a backend WT authentication / API regression, likely introduced after recent portal updates.

I am trying to set up DVSwitch Mobile and having my password rejected.

I used the following procedure:

  1. Install “DVSwitch Mobile” from Google Play on my Android phone.

  2. Open DVSwitch → on the Dialer screen tap “More” → choose “AllStarLink”.

  3. Tap “WT Setup”, enter my AllStar callsign login and password.

  4. I get a Login Failed error.

I confirmed my password works on the website + changed it to a 9 char pswd no special characters. Still doesn’t work.

Please advise…
