Dumb USB Sound fob Probably FNG mistake?

Pi 3 with UGREEN Sound fob.

Same sound fob working in Direwolf Dig-I-Gate for years

Alsamixer ‘Sees’ it but not ASL…

I Do get a CLI tilde when I ‘Bark’ squelch.

app_rpt does not use ALSA. Only certain types of adapters are currently supported. What does asl-find-sound report and is that properly configured in simpleusb.conf or usbradio.conf?

I wasn’t able to use find-sound. again prolly FNG syntax error[s]

Will Windows control panel/driver info contain that info string?

I'd use lsusb to see what it identifies as. app_rpt only "talks" to a short list of devices...

If you can't type in asl-find-sound and have it identify a sound device and instead get an error. You likely don't have a working install of ASL at all. Windows is entirely irrelevant to the issue. What error did you get? How did you install ASL?

Some Sunshine, at last!

I’ll try the lsusb and asl-find-sound in CLI. Enjoying the less bad WX…

It may not be on the ‘whitelist’ thought I could boink with the fob before deciding which and what to go with in a final config, 2-4 repeaters/site and 2 sites Again, kind of a Tall learing{HEHE} curve since the ACC & 7000 days….

Thanks for the patience.

Trixie lite? Pi Imager load from ‘Pi Appliance’ I can get a Beer & Bathroom in linux but not much more.

73 & Thanks!

Annd Socked back in…

There KT USB is the fob how would i configure simple usb.conf??

That device is not likely to be compatible with ASL. However you can try it by adding it to /etc/asterisk/res_usbradio.conf:

[general]
usb_devices = 12d1:7388

And then doing the normal setup with asl-menu. However app_rpt only supports C-Media cm10x/cm11x-compatible devices becuase of the GPIO exposure. If this device isn't a CM-compatible chip in the device, it will not work.

YUP;

Hadda feelin’

I have one that got zorched and will try & crack it open to find the audio chipset the 12d1:0010 number is a device ID and or series number?

I DO like the UGREEN 2.8 ish V out as they’re in an GND Aluminum case and mostly EMI shielded/quiet.

Thanks! I’ll try that & see if it ‘Sees’ It

If not “Cheapskate” here has gotta go interface shopping!

Eventual Goals are a 4 Repeater stack control, patch, service aotupatch bridging, Backup handoff etc…
