DTMF SHARI Pi Missing 2, 3, and 6

Hello,

I have a new SHARI Pi hat connected to a Pi 4. All seems good, as I can hear audio and connect to nodes via the web manager.

When I try to send DTMF commands, the system does not see 2, 3, or 6 when in the CLI, but sees all other keypresses. I have adjusted about every setting that I can think of related to receiving, and have not found an answer.

Is there anyone aware of issues that I might look to adjust?

Thanks

Jeff

My experience when that happens is emphasis/de-emphasis is set backwards, or a combination of that and mis-adjusted levels. Of course your audio will likely sound crappy until you fix it, as well.

Make sure to confirm with a 2nd/3rd radio, just in case the radio itself is jacked...

I lowered audio and then no keys registered. I increased and that fixed most.

Is there a parrot to hear audio or test levels in real time? I have been making changes and rebooting to test. Is there a better way to test nd adjust?

If you are editing the /etc/asterisk/simpleusb.conf file to modify the levels then you need to restart asterisk (sudo astres.sh) or restart/reboot the system for the changes to take effect.

Changes made with the tune menu (sudo simpleusb-tune-menu) take effect right away.

I am at a loss. No matter what settings I have changed or adjusted, my system does not recognize keys 2,3, and 6. All other keys on the keypad register in asterisk.

I have adjusted levels and echoed back to the radio and it sounded ok.

I just don't understand what to even look at to see why it is just those three keys. I even received a different Shari PI Hat to eliminate that as an issue.

What specific flavor of SHARI Pi Hat are you using?

What settings did you use when programming the RF module (with sa818-menu) ?

What settings did you use when configuring the SimpleUSB channel driver (with asl-menu or simpleusb-tune-menu) ?

Also, can you tell us more about the radio you are using to transmit the tones?

Did you ever try any other radios..?

I am using asurinic 818 Shari Pi hat that is attached to a Pi 4.

I have adjusted with simple-usb.

Current settings are:

rx voice level at 600 (have tried between 200-800)

Transmit A is 700

Transmit b is 600

rx boost disabled

pre emphasis disabled

de emphasis disabled

change carrier is usbinvert

change ctcss from is no

RX on delay is 0

Tx off delay is 0

sa818 menu settings:

band uhf

bandwith is narrow

tx and rx frequency 446.100

squelch is 1

volume is 4

sub-audible tone is ctcss with rx and rx tone at 110.9

ctcss reverse burst is closed

pre-empahsis disabled

high pass filter disabled

low pass filter is disabled

serial port default

connection speed default

I have tried different radio and have similar results.

Thanks

Jeff
