DTMF possible issue

I have a ham that has ASL installed and he uses DTMF to link to things.

He’s saying when he dials 523800 it doesn’t link to me?
He can dial up 47923 which is another node of mine and it works fine.

as far as i can tell the only difference is an extra digit in the node numbers.

i can do.
rpt fun 523800 *32000 from the console and it work fine for me?

is is something on my side not working?
Can someone else verify DTMF can link to 523800?

does he need to adjust something for longer id’s?

I connected to 523800 without issue.

Thanks for checking.

So, sounds like it’s not my node maybe it’s the users node?

I had another guy check and this is the voice message he left.

Yeah. Hey Russell tried to connect to 523800, but it’s not connecting. I am connected to yours 47923 tried to reach you on all star but no comeback from you. So. But I’ve tried to 523800 several times even went on All Star monitor too and put in 523800 and it won’t connect so but 47923 I’m connected to you right now. So but anyway, I tried it several times and it must be either turned off or or what so don’t know what else you want me to do with 523800. Give me a shout when you can.

The most probable cause would be that you both have a like numbered private node attached.
Part of a ‘loop-back’ protection, and unfortunately includes private nodes.

Otherwise, it could be that his nodelist is out of date ? I doubt it.

I’ll check private node.

i also sent him the new node diffs program to install

A quick test would be for him to drop all connections and just try a connection with you,
bare bones, so to speak.
But know any connection in common will cause a refusal in loop-back.
