Hello all, I am running an Allstar node that is linked directly via 2 URIs to a DMR cbridge using an ambe device in the cbridge to en/decode audio. The node has been operating normal but recently I purchased a new radio, an Anytone D878uv. When I transmit DTMF codes, from the D878, to control the node it won't decode it. When I listen to the talkgroup using another radio the DTMF sounds normal. When I use other radios DTMF is decoded properly. Any suggestions?73,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Welcome to the AllStar community. Don’t worry about duplicate posts. There will be some of that until we work out what we’re going to do with the old mailman email list. Let me know if you have any questions about this site.
About your DTMF question. The audio characteristics of radios vary of course and if AllStar isn’t set up exactly right some radio’s DTMF will not be decoded. The issue generally is deemphasis. When you connect to other nodes do you sound muffled or tinny to them? If so you need to change your deemphasis settings.
If you want, connect to my 2530 node and we can give you an audio report. Ask for me, WD6AWP or for someone to tell you how your audio sounds.
See if asterisk is decoding any of the touchtones in the cli. “asterisk -vvvvvvvvr” then type the tones and see if anything is happening

It decodes with other radios but not this d878.

Does the D878 generate tones that sound ok on another DMR radio?

Never mind sorry didn’t read your whole email.
On DMR, (from what I know) I believe DTMF is encoded into a bit stream and then AMBE decides that bit stream back into tones.
Maybe the Chinese did something different with their bits that your receiver doesent understand?
