Debian 12 server on a Dell optiplex. statpost errors occasionally

I have a Debian 12 server on a Dell optiplex. It supports several hubs with many nodes. All appearances from operation are that all is well; however, when I look at the messages log, I see groups of statpost errors. This occurred around 3AM, 1:20PM, and again at 8:06PM. Other times, the log file looks normal. The following is an example of the errors:

[May 26 20:06:28] ERROR[481822] app_rpt.c: statpost to URL http://stats.allstarlink.org/uhandler.php?node=42610&time=1779843973&seqno=9604&keyed=0&keytime=160897 failed with code 0

This has been running for several years.

Any ideas? Anything happening to statpost?

Thanks,

You're hitting the rate-limiter periodically. I can see it in the server logs. It's not an error/problem.

What could cause this? I see it in the log again at 3AM this morning (5/27).

the hubs and nodes are sending too many stat queries per time interval, and the ASL Network stat server is rate-limited to fairly serve incoming stat queries

What can be done on my side to mitigate this? We have a LARGE linked 900 MHz network.

There’s nothing you need or can do about it. It doesn’t hurt anything on your side of things.

I frequently get error messages, even though I am <30 requests per minute. Has the limit of 30 requests per minute changed?

Statpost is rate-limted to one node + IP tuple every 60 seconds for a POST.
