I’ve been working on getting Supermon to a dark mode and tried to document my changes in a couple blog posts. There is a lot of room for the code to be cleaned up as it is quite messy… Make a backup of files before you change them. And I themed it to AllScan if you like that interface’s colors and design.
Very nice blog. Supermon 7.4 was originally written for ASL1.01 it was never menat to go to 2 and now 3 on ASL. That being said. there are more things you can do with it than you realize. check out this and see if you really want to know how and I can help you with it.
I kind of got Supermon to where I wanted it. I was debating on if I wanted to work on cleaning up the code and making it all work together better while documenting it with comments to make future updating easier. I suppose lsnodes is worth keeping, and maybe a better idea would be to look at porting over useful parts to Allmon3. Along with an Allmon3 dark mode. Looking around it was a basic copyright where you’d need permission to use the code which could be problematic. We’ll see if I get motivated.
As the primary developer of Allmom3 I would be happy to have others interested in improving the software. However, please note that we would not accept any code that is developed from or spun out of Supermon. The licensing is incompatible.
Rob K6IRK, shared a mod that makes Supermon display narrower page widths for use on a smartphone. I’d like to try to merge the two mods together, that is narrower page for smartphones and dark mode together.
When needing to do something with the node on the phone browser I just use AllScan. Zoom it and it’s easy to connect, disconnect… And I seem to remember that WA3DSP’s Supermon 2 (strange numbering) had a mobile web friendly mode that looked pretty decent, but not as easy to use as AllScan and just zooming a little.
Supermon2 is for Hamvoip only and Doug will not write one for ASL. this comes straight from Doug.
it is easy to make the change but you might want to talk to Paul KN2R as he was the one that wrote supermon and version 7 started with ASL 1.0.1. 7.4+ was the last one he wrote and it was never meant for ASL2 or 3.
