COS-Detected and PTT-Keyed (Full Duplex)

Hi all.

I’m new to this, so bear with me please.

I am attempting to build an AllStar node, following the videos of G5REV (Ben). Few teething hiccups along the way, but managed to iron those out.

The build is almost complete and it’s testing time. The video shows him switching in and hearing an announcement from his connected radio, I don’t hear any announcements from mine.

When logging into Supermon, I can see the status as either “IDLE” or “COS-Detected and PTT-Keyed (Full Duplex)”. I have checked the rpt.config file and can confirm the Duplex=1 is in there under my node (this was mention in another post on this site).

I can’t hear anything or connect to anything. Only other thing noted is that the UV-82 screen cganges colour, indicating that a signal is being received on the frequency with the correct tone.

Any advice? Like I said, first one I’ve built and first real project, so at a loss of where to start troubleshooting.

TIA :slightly_smiling_face:

What version of software are you using ?
What is the setting of linktolink= ?
What is the intended mode of operation? simplex node, duplex repeater, link node

Thanks for your reply.

I am using HamVoip v1.6

I’ve not set anything as linktolink, that wasn’t covered in the videos - where would I find that info?

It is a simple simplex node, personal use, for me to connect to the allstar networks.

Thanks again.

I am sorry, I can’t answer that.
hamvoip is not the same software, it just can use the same network.

Without watching the same howto video you reference,
I can’t speak to any of that either and there are plenty of them.

Have you tried setting it up according to the manual for the software and your specific use ?

Perhaps someone more familiar with hamvoip will speak to it.
