Connection issue but iaxrpt works

I’m trying to help someone with an allstar node with connections inbound. Outbound it is fine. Inbound from any number of nodes I tried no dice, however, iaxrpt connects to it fine. Never had this problem before, been using since 2010 with ACID but this has me puzzled

it is receiving the rpt_extnodes, which has the correct info, currently, it is registered, ip/port are correct, it is on a commercial network connection. iax port forwarded. And that port forwarding is confirmed because iaxrpt can connect inbound. But three other nodes I have cannot connect. Two of those are from the same ip address as the iaxrpt connection. I'm really stumped on this 'un

and...the node in question can connect outbound to anything

When I try to connect from node 28599:
28599CLI> rpt fun 28599 3651413
-- Call accepted by 72.12.122.209 (format ulaw)

-- Format for call is ulaw

-- Hungup 'IAX2/72.12.122.209:4569-1149'*
-- Hungup 'Zap/pseudo-769721040'*

When I connect from iaxrppt:

Are these ASL3 nodes or Hamvoip nodes? Are they on the same network? Does each node if on the same network have different port #’s? ex: 4569.4570.4571 etc.

A very common poblem
Either the person’s router or their ISP is blocking inbound connettions
Many routers do this
IAXrpt for me worked as long as I was on the home router but not if I was not… Outbound works great but inbound is blocked I believe by my Router (Possibly the ISP but I’m thiking the router)
Now there is a way or several around that but considering the person who first helped me get into allstar is a hacker when he said he could not access my node… I smiled.

Not the issue here. The repeater is a few hundred miles away. Port is open is confirmed because iaxrpt goes in on the same port and works fine.

Allstar not hamvoip. Not allstar 3. This is a 2019-ish version. I have an image file I use to load to a 16gb ssd on a HP thin client. I have three or four of those running. Initially I thought it was a port forwarding problem since the rpt_extnodes file showed port 4569 and I had it set to 4571, but the guy at the site was able to forward port 4569 instead and I was able to change the port number to 4569 in iax.conf then restart asterisk.

I don't know if your node (28599) is currently being affected by weather but the node is currently NOT showing up as being registered. Not being registered would most certainly impact being able to connect to other nodes.

Yeah, 28599 is offline due to power hits and network issues. Temp: it never snows in Texas
